Syrian Army Liberates Armenian Town of Kessab after Two Months of Occupation

The Syrian Arab Army regained full control over the town of Kessab in northwestern Syria near the Turkish border on Sunday. The town was recaptured after systematic, step by step tactical operations to flush out the thousands of Jabhat al-Nusrah militants which swarmed across the Turkish border on Mother’s Day, March 21, 2014.

Eyewitnesses reported to nsnbc international that the al-Nusrah fighters were aided by Turkish military forces, providing artillery cover for the advancing fighters, by providing air cover, and by Turkish special forces who had infiltrated the region to direct artillery fire towards Syrian military positions.
