Syria Support Movement solidarity with the Syrian people
If you sent a donation for Syrian refugees to a major charity, it did not reach Ghazzal or 6 million other destitute and displaced persons in Syria because the major charities do not operate inside most of Syria.
The Syria Sanctions allow charities to operate only by delivering aid directly, not through local partners. Other than the UN, we are probably the only other 501(c)(3) charity that does that.
Ghazzal and millions more are facing food and medicine shortages and a cold winter, many without shelter or heat. We leased a small apartment for Ghazzal and her family in Homs, but we have no means to help more than a tiny fraction of those who need it.
Unfortunately, our resources are not even 1% that of larger organizations but no matter how much we receive, every penny will help Syrians survive the winter and provide for their families. Please send what you can.
