“Jewish Homeland” Partners with “Kurdish Homeland” in Profiting From Theft of Syria Oil

by Steven Sahiounie, published on  Mideast Discourse, June 28, 2022

An Israeli occupation agent is in Syria buying oil from the Kurds, who are mercenaries for the U.S., and enemies of the Turks, and the stolen Syria oil is being shipped out of a Turkish port.

Syria is an oil rich nation, and used to pump enough oil for its domestic needs, and sell the surplus.  However, the US-NATO attack on Syria beginning in March 2011 transformed the country into a war zone.  Some oil wells were destroyed, or captured by ISIS; however, with the defeat of ISIS those wells are now under U.S. occupation, and administered by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).  The SDF are a mercenary militia made up of Syrian citizens who are ethnically Kurdish.  The area they control is not predominately Kurdish, and they remain a minority in the North East corner of Syria.  It is by military force, and the backing of the U. S. that allows them to occupy the area.

The SDF currently holds 11 oil wells, in the major oil producing area in Syria.  Despite the past damage by ISIS, the area has a proven prospect for production of nearly half a million barrels of oil per day.  The largest oil field is Al-Omar in the Eastern province of Deir Ez Zor, which is under SDF control, as is the Tanak and Jafra oil fields.  Additionally, the SDF hold the Rmeilan field in Hassakeh province, and several smaller sites in Raqaa province.

Al-Akbar, a Lebanese news outlet, obtained a leaked letter signed by Elham Ahmed, Joint President of the Executive Committee of the Democratic Syria Council, which is the political arm of the SDF. In this document, Elham Ahmed is giving authorization to an Israeli occupation businessman, Moti Kahana, to represent the Council on all matters related to the sale of Syrian oil in areas under the SDF control.

Moti Kahana is a frequent visitor to North East Syria.  Perhaps he refers to the area as “Rojava”, the fantasy term of a Syrian Kurdistan, which the U.S. had promised the Kurds in exchange for fighting, and dying to rid the area of ISIS.  Most analysts agree that the U.S. will eventually leave the Kurds high and dry, after their usefulness has run out.

The Israeli occupation government embraces this fantasy of a ‘homeland’ for the Kurds.  It validates their own ‘homeland’: carved from land owned and inhabited by other ethnic groups by a minority, and by military force.  The Israeli occupationists like the idea of being part of a trend, and not standing alone in the face of global outrage and criticism.  The Kurdish treatment of Syrians in the region looks like a page taken from the 1948 Israeli occupation handbook: confiscate lands, farms, shops and homes; throw people out in the desert; kill or jail all opposition.

The U.S. State Department looks down on the question of dual citizenship.  As a general rule, if you are born an American citizen, you don’t take another citizenship, and if you are born abroad and become a naturalized citizen of America, you are expected to renounce your original allegiance, and become an American.  However, there is one exception to the rule, and that is Israel.  Moti Kahana is one such dual citizen, and the Israeli American Council describes him as a philanthropist.

Others have said he is an Israeli occupation lobbyist in Washington, DC., while also donating time and money to the Syrian opposition, including the armed opposition which is now non-existent, except for their brother-in-arms, Hayat Tahir al Sham (HTS), who hold Idlib.  HTS, the Al Qaeda branch in Syria, is also getting their oil supplies from the Kurds.

Israel occupation has been buying 75 percent of its oil from the Kurds in Iraq, and those were also being shipped through the Ceyhan port, despite Iraqi law punishable by death for any ties to Israel occupation.  A network of oil tankers, and fake identities, facilitate the transfer involving Israel, Kurds and Turkey.  Information from TankerTrackers.com revealed the shipments, including switching off the ship’s transponder near Israel, and then going back for more, and repeating the Turkey to Israel occupation route.   This was a similar story while Israel was buying the same stolen Syrian oil, but earlier in 2015 while ISIS was in control.

The Kurds and the Israeli occupation are supported by the U.S. and have a similar goal of establishing a homeland for their own ethnic group, without thought of the injustice and oppression of the inhabitants of the areas they conquer by military force.  After 71 years of chaos and insecurity in the Israeli occupation, the Kurds might want to think about a Plan B.
