Aleppo province: SOHR activists have documented a series of disappearances of civilians, including minor girls, in Aleppo city and eastern countryside in May. In this context, uncertainty surrounds the circumstances of the disappearance of the those civilians, while security services have issued no official statements clarifying the reasons behind those appearances, which has triggered public panic and concerns.

According to SOHR sources, tens of incidents of the disappearance of boys have been documented since early May, while no accurate information were reported about their whereabouts.

It is worth noting that some of those boys returned homes a few days later. However, the stories about the circumstances of their disappearance were similar, which has raised suspicious about those incidents.

The families of some boys reported that their sons were in Sarmada city in Idlib countryside during the period when they disappeared, but they did not mentioned any information about the motives of their sudden travel to Idlib or the parties which communicated with them.

It is worth noting that the journey from Aleppo to Idlib is highly dangerous, particularly for children under eighteen, which raises questions about how they managed to reach that region and return again.

Similarly, a minor boy went missing for two days, before he was found in an abandoned building in a neighbourhood in Aleppo city, but no further information was reported about the circumstances of his disappearance.

Such recurrent incidents spark many speculations, including possibilities that those boys and their families were threatened or faced pressure, especially with the ongoing silence by security forces which have not issued any official statements so far clarifying the reasons behind those disappearances or reassure residents.

Meanwhile, residents have expressed their growing concerns about the recurrent disappearances in light of the deteriorating security and social situations.
